Back in the day
Although sandals have been around forever, their use in sports and outdoor activities had been extremely limited by poor construction. That changed in 1973 when a few surfer buddies started Deckers Corporation in SoCal. Fresh out of college, they saw new ways to use advanced materials and designs to spawn durable, water-compatible sandals that could be used during rough-n-tuff activities, yet be stylish and versatile. Their venture was the forefront of action sandal technology. Deckers® was the first sandal manufacturer to use high quality military spec parachute nylon webbing and closed-cell multi-density neoprene rubbers. Simply put, Deckers® flip flops were ahead of their time back in the day.
Deckers® Flip Flops Today
After a 14 year hiatus, Deckers® flip flops are back! Keeping it simple and keeping it real, this spring we are launching our come-back line of flip flops with styles for men and women. After customers contacted us saying their twenty-year old flip flops had finally passed on to meet their…er, maker, we realized we needed to bring these babies back. So we have, and we’ve learned a lot during our long vacation so they’re even better than before. Deckers® flip flops are Serious Flip Flops™.
Like we said, we’re keeping it simple and keeping it real. We’re not about putting on a show or selling out by sacrificing comfort and durability for a bottle opener or flask. We’re about creating something real - something that’ll hold up to barbeques, road trips, concerts and beer runs. We’re about having fun and creating good times. And we’re about doing it all in some Serious Flip Flops™.
