Partnerships
Deckers Outdoor Corporation is committed to community and understands that by working together with partners we maximize the benefits for each other and our communities. We have chosen charities and organizations which share our values and our commitment to improving the well-being for people in the Santa Barbara community and beyond.
Highlighted below are the organizations that Deckers Outdoor Corporation works with on a daily basis. Each brand also has unique partnerships that reflect their unique attributes. For information on brand partnerships visit Teva®, Simple® Shoes, UGG ® Australia, Ahnu® or TSUBO® websites.
Soles4Souls
At Deckers we are committed to the responsible disposal of shoes. Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization that is changing the world with each pair of shoes donated. Soles4Souls collects new, used and unwanted shoes and distributes them to over 60 countries around the world in an effort to put shoes on the feet of those in need. To date Soles4Souls has collected over 3 million pairs of shoes.
Deckers has been involved with Soles4Souls since March of 2007 when we held a local community drive bringing in over 30,000 pairs of shoes from the Santa Barbara region. Since then Deckers portfolio of brands has donated over 100,000 pairs to those in need.

The Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, UCSB, Santa Barbara, CA
Deckers Outdoor Corporation has developed a partnership with the Bren School and works with graduate students who are obtaining their Masters degree in Environmental Science. In February 2008, a group of students worked with the Simple brand to study the life cycle and carbon impact of footwear. Find out more about Simple Shoes on their site. In 2009, Bren students worked with Deckers to develop recommendations for our factories to improve their environmental footprint and develop a business case for environmental initiatives. Moving forward, we will build off of the findings from our 2008 project and work to establish a model for the environmental footprint of a variety of shoes in the Deckers family of brands. This model will help to create standards of what environmental friendliness means in the footwear industry.
The Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UCSB has earned a reputation as one of the top environmental graduate schools in the nation. It is amongst a handful of schools in the United States and the only one in the West to integrate science, management, law, economics, and policy as part of an interdisciplinary approach to environmental problem-solving. The Bren School pursues its research- and education-based mission at Bren Hall, a cutting-edge structure that has been recognized as the "greenest" laboratory facility in the United States with LEED certification. It is home to a collection of superbly equipped laboratories, computer centers, lecture halls, and other teaching and meeting places that support instruction, research, and the development of tomorrow's most capable scientists and environmental managers.
