We can do more by working together.

There are so many wonderful people in the world. We like to partner and work with as many of them as we can!

Here are some of the amazing groups we work with to try to solve some of the big problems in the work. We’re proud to call them our partners!

Soles4Souls

At Deckers, we are committed to the responsible disposal of shoes, which is why we partner with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization that is changing the world with each pair of shoes donated.

To put shoes on the feet of those in need, Soles4Souls collects new, used and unwanted shoes and distributes them to over 60 countries around the world. To date, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed over three million pairs of shoes to those in need.

We began our partnership with Soles4Souls in March of 2007 when we held a local community drive that brought in over 30,000 pairs of shoes from the Santa Barbara region.

The Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, UC Santa Barbara

Deckers Outdoor Corporation has developed a partnership with the Bren School, where we work with graduate students obtaining their Masters degree in Environmental Science. Since 2008 Deckers has worked with Bren Masters Students on projects to reduce environmental impacts. Projects have included reducing the environmental impact of our DCs, product lifecycle assessments of shoes, and water footprint analysis.

Conservation Alliance

Several of Deckers brands are members of the Conservation Alliance and contribute to the organization by donating money and volunteer time. The Conservation Alliance is a group of outdoor industry companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to conserve open spaces and wilderness.

Each year, our employees participate in a volunteer event – we call it the Backyard Collective. We volunteer alongside other local Conservation Alliance members to help our local environment. In the past, we’ve cleaned up locations in local rivers and mountains…and we’re looking forward to future events!

Outdoor Industry Association (OIA)

Deckers is a member of the OIA and participates in the Sustainability Working Group (SWG). This group  addresses issues of environmental sustainability. The SWG has partnered with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to develop the HIGG Index. This is an industry tool used to measure the environmental and social impacts of products.

Environmental Defense Center (EDC)

At Deckers, we believe it’s important to preserve and protect the natural environments that surround where we live and work. That’s why we support the Environmental Defense Center, a nonprofit that works to preserve open space, ensure clean air and water, and protect marine life and wildlife near our central California headquarters. In 2012, our Director of Corporate Responsibility, Mark Heintz, joined the EDC board, where he helps the nonprofit advance its mission through community outreach, fundraising, and project review.

Leather Working Group (LWG)

Deckers is a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), an industry organization that developed and maintains a rating system and certification program for environmental performance in tanneries. Our goal is to increase the percentage of LWG certified leather and hides in our products and supply chain.
