Career and Pay

Because Deckers’ success depends on having highly motivated, high performing and diverse employees, we offer a variety of tools and programs to foster career development and reward and recognize employees, as well as an outstanding work environment.

Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance

Deckers medical plans are designed with a focus on wellness and preventive care. Employees in most locations can choose from two types of medical plans: a preferred provider organization (PPO) and a regional health maintenance organization (HMO). Employees are eligible to enroll in the insurance plans at the first of the month following their date of hire.

In California and Hawaii both the PPO and HMO plans are available and for the remaining states the PPO plan is offered.

Comprehensive Vision and Dental coverage is available nationwide.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

The Flexible Spending Account plan allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified out-of-pocket medical, dependent care, dental and vision expenses for you and your eligible dependents. Additionally, a commuter choice FSA program is also available to pay for qualified transportation expenses such as mass transit and parking.

Family Resources

Deckers sponsors an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides you and your immediate family members with free and confidential counseling and referral services designed to help you balance work and family life. The program includes: short-term professional counseling, legal consultations, financial counseling, child care referrals and pet care referral services. Online information and interactive tools are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

Deckers  offers a Life and AD&D Insurance policy that provides you with coverage of two  benefit times annual base salary up to a maximum of $300,000.

Supplemental Life Insurance

You may purchase Supplemental Life Insurance for you and your dependents on a voluntary basis. You may choose coverage in increments of $25,000 up to $150,000 or lesser of 5 times your annual base pay. Spousal/Domestic partner coverage can be purchased in increments of $5,000 up to $50,000 and children are covered at a flat $10,000 benefit.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

Deckers automatically provides you with Short-term and Long-term Disability benefits at the first of the month following their date of hire. Short-term disability benefits provides up to 66.67% of annual base salary up to $2,500 maximum weekly benefit for up to 12 weeks. Long-term disability benefits provides 60% of annual base salary up to $10,000 maximum monthly benefit for employees disabled for 90-consecutive days or more.

Long-Term Care

Deckers offers voluntary Long Term Care insurance for all U.S. benefits eligible employees. These plans provide coverage in the event you need nursing home care, adult day care, or assisted living.

Deckers Retirement and Savings Plan 401(k) Plan

You are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan, beginning the first of the month following 3 months of service.  You may contribute up to 100% of your eligible compensation and receive a match of 50% of your contribution up to a maximum of  6% of eligible compensation.  You are immediately 100% vested in the employer match.

Time Away from Work

Deckers employees have access to vacation time, sick time, bereavement leave, medical leave and time off for jury duty services.

Vacation Time
All full-time employees accrue vacation as follows:

  • Fourteen (14) vacation days accrue each year from the beginning of your first through fifth years of continuous employment.
  • Nineteen (19) vacation days accrue each year from your sixth through tenth years of continuous employment.
  • Twenty-four (24) vacation days accrue each year from your eleventh year of continuous employment and beyond.

Paid Holidays
Deckers observes the following 11 legal holidays:

  • Presidents’ Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veteran’s Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Two days at Christmas

Traveling on Business

Deckers provides a global business travel accident plan which provides protection to you and your accompanying dependents while traveling on business anywhere in the world! This benefit includes: travel accident insurance, medical and prescription coverage, as well as 24/7 emergency travel assistance.

Group Legal Plan

The group legal plan provides you with access to a nationwide network of more than 12,500 experienced attorneys to help you and your family members with affordable group legal services.

Tuition Reimbursement
We’ll help you pursue further education that’s relevant to what you do. Tuition reimbursement is up to $5,000 per calendar year.

At Deckers in Goleta, you’ll find an on-site fitness center that has state of the art fitness equipment and a variety of classes for employees to take.   Other onsite services include car wash services, dry cleaning, massage therapy, nail  and waxing services and fresh organic produce delivered weekly, stand-up paddleboards and cruiser bikes….just to name a few cool things!
