Below are the benefits that we offer our US employees:

Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance

Employees are eligible to enroll in the insurance plans at the first of the month following their date of hire. Deckers pays approximately 80% of the employee’s premium and a portion of the premium for spouse and/or family coverage.

Medical Carriers for California:

  • Anthem Blue Cross: PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) or HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)

Medical Carriers for Other States:

  • Anthem Blue Cross: PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) or OOA (Out of Area)
  • Vision Carrier: VSP
  • Vision coverage is provided by VSP. Exams, contacts, lenses and frames are all covered.
  • Dental Insurance
  • Comprehensive coverage through Delta Dental.

Flexible Spending Account (Section 125 Plan)

This plan allows employees to set aside money from earnings, pre-taxed for premium payments of health and dental insurance for employees and their families; medical, dental and vision expenses for employees and their families; “day care” expenses for children up to the age of 13; and qualified transportation benefits (in certain areas).

Employee Assistance Program

Deckers sponsors an Employee Assistance Program to provide employees and their dependents with voluntary, confidential services designed to help employees and dependents balance their work and family lives. The program consists of resources and referral services, counseling and support services, online information and interactive tools accessible 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Services for employees and their dependents include free short-term counseling, legal consultations, financial counseling, child care referrals, pet care referrals and more.

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

Deckers also offers a Life and AD&D Insurance policy that provides benefit eligible employees with coverage of two times their annual base salary up to a maximum of $300K.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

Employees are eligible for Short-term and Long-term Disability benefits at the first of the month following their date of hire. These benefits are free of cost to employees. Short-term disability benefits provides up to 66.67% of annual base salary up to $2,500 maximum weekly benefit for up to 12 weeks. Long –term disability benefits provides up to 60% of annual base salary up to $10,000 maximum monthly benefit for employees disabled for 90 consecutive days or more.

Long Term Care

Deckers provides access to Long Term Care insurance for all US benefit eligible employees. This plan provides income protection in the event you need nursing home care, adult day care, or assisted living.  This benefit is generally 100% employee paid ($50-$350 per month depending on age).

Business Travel Accident

Deckers provides Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance benefits to eligible employees while they are traveling on company assignment, including local business travel. Coverage offered is five times their annual base salary up to $1,000,000 maximum benefit.

Deckers 401(k) Plan

Employees may contribute up to 100% and receive a match of up to 50% of your contribution and up to 6% of pay with no vesting schedule. We offer a variety of investment options to choose from.

Time Away

Vacation Time
All full-time employees accrue vacation as follows:

  • Fourteen (14) vacation days accrue each year from the beginning of your first through fifth years of continuous employment.
  • Nineteen (19) vacation days accrue each year from your sixth through tenth years of continuous employment.
  • Twenty-four (24) vacation days accrue each year from your eleventh year of continuous employment and beyond.

Paid Holidays
Deckers observes the following 11 legal holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King’s Day
  • Presidents’ Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Two days at Christmas

Sick Time
All full-time employees are granted forty (40) hours worth of sick leave each January and can accumulate these hours throughout years of employment. For those employees who begin working for the company throughout the year, sick leave will be granted on a prorated basis. Sick leave is not paid upon termination of employment.

Benefits…Beyond the basics

Tuition Reimbursement
We’ll help you pursue further education that’s relevant to what you do. Tuition reimbursement is up to $5,000 per calendar year.

Supplemental Insurance
Employees are eligible the first day of the month following their date of hire for the following supplemental voluntary benefits:

  • Specified Health Event
  • Hospital Indemnity Protection

These benefits are extremely affordable, portable (you can take them with you if you leave employment with Deckers at the same rate) and are paid via payroll deduction (most deducted on a pre-tax basis). These plans provide cash benefits directly to you to spend as you see fit, for uncovered medical expenses, for everyday living expenses, for sickness or illness-related treatments.
